What is Vendor Central?
Vendor Central is the platform through which Amazon Vendors are able to view and confirm purchase orders, manage their product catalog, track their sales and operations metrics, and perform most other functions that relate to their relationship with Amazon.
Vendor Central is unique from Seller Central in the amount of control it gives brands over their products. The most business critical distinction between Vendors and Sellers is that Vendors do not have the ability to adjust the everyday retail price of their ASINs; they can only control their sell prices to Amazon, and Amazon has full control over the retail price.
How is a Vendor different from a Seller?
Being a Vendor to Amazon is similar to being a supplier to other retailers, while being a Seller is similar to selling products on consignment to those retailers. Vendors are paid for their goods when Amazon orders them from the Vendor, while Sellers are only paid when customers purchase their products.
