What is an Amazon owned brand?
Amazon owned brands are brands such as AmazonBasics, Solimo, Pinzon and Happy Belly which are wholly owned by Amazon.com and are exclusively distributed on Amazon. Products sold in Amazon owned brands are manufactured under contract by highly-vetted suppliers.
How are Amazon owned brand suppliers selected?
Suppliers to Amazon owned brands are typically selected from existing Amazon Vendors who demonstrate the ability to launch and scale private label programs for other retailers. These include contract manufacturers and distributors who specialize in private labeling. In some cases, smaller suppliers may be chosen for Amazon owned brands based upon their performance in other Amazon programs.
